Hi guys,
Recently I ditched a set-top cable box in favour of the internal CI+ slot (using the seperately purchased adapter) of my Samsung UE50F6500. Now that I have switched, I notice that the image quality of the broadcasts is noticeably worse on all channels than the set top box (which was also made by Samsung), where even SD feeds looked pretty decent. Images are softer, blurrier, and look lower resolution, even on HD channels, and I had no idea that there would be such a difference. This is on a well calibrated TV where settings have not changed.
I want to keep using the CI+ slot as it's so much more convenient, and the set top box softwarewas laggy and buggy. A guy suggested I disable Transcoding in the TV menu, and I have done but it has made sod-all difference.
Has anyone else experienced this drop in quality when using a Samsung TV CI+ slot? Any other tips for anything I can do to improve things?
Cheers,
Rich.
