I have recordings of the baby dancing, and taking her first steps and suchlike, and I wish to send them to a friend/distant relative in Australia and SE Asia.
The files seems to be absolutely massive, and will not compress or rar by very much, they are too large for email attachments.
Can I setup msn to broadcast over webcamera?
Or do I simply have to play the video on my machine and point the webcam at it?
Any other methods of broadcast?

What is the total size (MB) and length (hh:mm) of the videos? You may be able to compress them to a smaller file by transcoding them.

Check out handbrake (free) or Xilisoft (paid) for transcoding software.

For hosting the files, check out SkyDrive or Localhostr (50MB per file), or Dropbox. Or many of the other file hosting sites such as Rapidshare, Megaupload, Hotfile, etc.

Thanks guys, didn't really want to host as the connection at the far end is poor, but will see what can be done.
Read stuff about broadcasting, but it all seems to revolve around using nasty hacks or similar.
Bit complex, wondering if anyone had done it.

Set up a free account with JustinTV or USTREAM and broadcast then to your channel on either of those 2 sites. You can encode and upload them using Flash Media Live Encoder or Windows Media Encoder.

Can't you just upload a few clips to youtube and set to private? 15 minutes is standard isn't it?

Run the files through 'Handbrake' or Windows Movie Maker if you want to use a built in tool
