I'm trying to set up a small server on my home PC. I have the PC connected through a wire to a Netgear Router (DG834GT)
How do I set up the router so that I can see what this machine is broadcasting on port 8000?
I can see what is being broadcast if I use both localhost and 127.0.0.1. I can even access it using the network IP assigned by the router however I cannot get it working by typing in my IP
Any Ideas?

Errr... not sure what you are asking.

For example: type NETSTAT at a command prompt and that will tell you what your ports are doing on your PC. What is connected to where, etc.

Your Netgear router cannot be used to see what your PC is broadcasting.

Or are you asking how to configure port forwarding?
