I Just noticed when putting a new HSF combo on that one of the pins has been snapped off.

It still works fine and i've never seen any problems from it. All i'm worried about is the sell on value!

I'll be wanting to sell my mobo, ram, cpu when the new conroe chips & mobo's come out.

Will the value be significantly less that the same CPU, even if it works fine and is a v good clocker?

It's a x2 3800 by the way.

well that very much sucks. ah well, the computers still dyno-mite. probably best if i don't just splash out any time soon on a new system.

Its just buying for the sake of buying. It'll keep me going for a good few years :)

Definately, upgrading is evil in my opinion. I tend to upgrade because it looks good and will offer a good performance boost, despite me not really noticing it. I intend to go X2 or dual core Opteron and that's it on my current system..

You could always ask your local jeweller if he could weld a new pin on, should be able to do it no problem if he's got a laser welder.

How much would that cost?
Really worth it?

A lot of pins are just grounds, they'll work fine without them.
