So I completely bent loads of pins on my 8350....

Having spent a fortune recently in pc parts I'm not really in the position to go buying another 8350. I have seen the fx4300 for £65. Am I really going to notice a huge drop in fps?

Mostly playing elite dangerous currently...

Running a 7870, but planning on upgrading this year to something beefier.

Can get the 8320 for 107 delivered (next day) so only £30 more, I presume the difference is worth it then?

Nice one, cheers guys shall get it ordered today.

Any difference between the 8320 and the 8320E. Such a shame to see the 8350 just sat here dead!

Surely someone could fix it?

Edit - I see the 8320E is the efficent version, see no reason to go for this if true (I don't pay for leccie) and the 8320 is cheaper...

You can fix it yourself with a credit card, a magnifying glass and a LOT of patience...

Was at this for the best part of 3 hours last night, I'm confident it's beyond repair sadly. Or at least I'm not going to be able to fix it.

Suprised how easily it came away from the motherboard and how easily they bent too! Was very very little pressure to pry it away. :(

Not the best image in the world but it shows how bad it is :

This was after hours of work, and the photo doesn't show the pins that are flat to the board. It's a mess :(

Just bought a 8320, I'm also sure but not 100% that a pin snapped off.

I think I either lack the skill set or patience but it's not happening for me sadly.

I can just picture you handling the new one as if it were a live bomb when fitting it. ;)

Too right! Terrified at the thought of it, I've changed loads of chips in the past too! Never once came close to bending a pin!

On ebay just now, if it doesn't sell I'll pop it on the MM for free. Someone might want a shot.

Sent them an email, not holding up much hope though.

Popped it on ebay, been offered £30 for it so far. So should get £35 for it, which altough still dissapointing is better than nothing!

Jesus, how did you manage that?

Removing the cpu!

I have no idea, removed plenty in the past and done everything as normal. Little to no pressure was needed for the cpu to come flying out attached to the cooler. Getting it off the cooler was also a nightmare..

Sold it on ebay, so the downgrade cost less than I thought it would've. :)
