Argggggggggggggggggg

Only the second time I've used this saw! had it two weeks, i did pick it up second hand but it ran fine. Managed to score the piston on it yesterday in a 5 hour clean up of the log yard. We did have stacks of 12-24" logs lying around now i've managed to clear 1/4 of by cutting them up for fire wood.

Not quite sure what caused it as the rest of the saws are fine i guess the carb on it was a bit dodggy. Its going to cost more than its worth to repair:(
Got plenty more though :D

Stihl rule as far as chainsaws go.

Out of all thoses saws the Husky (orange) ones are by far the best. The STIHL top handle one it suppose to be the best money can buy. However when that one dies or reaches the end of it working life (early next year) i'm getting the Husky equivenlent.

How thick is the wood you are sawing? Can easily put strain on a chainsaw of that size. When my dad is using one of his, he kinda gives it rest inbetween sawing too, so it aint under constand pressure. The one he uses though has a much larger bar on it than that. what make is it?

Strip it down for spares/repairs and make a chainsaw/katana crossover death combo. Guaranteed to slice through anything in one swing.

Im still waiting for someone to show me the designs of one of those. I may have the need to get rid of another sofa soon ;)

Ranged from 12 -24" and it has an 18" bar with semi chisel chain on it. I gave it lots of rests but its 45cc saw so it would handle most of that quite easly espeically as it was cutting so well there was a 1' deep pile of saw dust and chip behind me. Its a Husqvarna saw btw.

Biggest bar i have is a 24" for my Husky 365 it will run a 28" though.

Why do you have so many chainsaws?

I do a lot of tree work and firewood cutting. The two orange ones are mine and the little top handel one is mine. I've borrowed the other two STIHL saws from a friend for an upcomming job. There all different sizes and weights for doing different things.

The end one is a top handeled saw for working in the tree. its about 40cc
The next white STIHL and the orange Husky are both 45cc and are the best saws for felling small stuff up to 15" or so. Quite light so there not to heavy when you want to use them in a tree.
The two big ones are 50 and 65cc and i mainly use them for cutting stuff up on the ground. Although i've done trees where the only saw i used was a 365 with a 20 then a 24" bar

Also the big saws weigh about 8kg with bars and chain and fuel the little ones weight about 4kg. If your going to carry them around all day it makes a big difference.

What is it about chainsaws that gets all real men off the sofa, and down to B&Q to eye one up?

That chainsaw/Katana combo sounds pretty sweet, can someone draw an artisic impression of what one might look like and post it? :D

EDIT: ^^^ Err WOW! :D
