I some how managed to damage the screen top left (I think with my elbow - don't ask) and where the signal display is just a small White blob with lines in it.

Gutted.

Oh well work is getting me an iPhone later this month. Still I'm cross. I <3 by iPhone. At least everything still works after all I typed this on it LOL.

Sorry to here. I would have thought it was made of stronger stuff, mine seems like the only thing that could damage it is a fall.

I've dropped before on to a tiled floor and it did nothing apart from scuff the case.

I guess whatever happened applied enough force on a specific spot to do the damage. C'est la vie, eh? :( :)

Did you not take insurance out on the iPhone mate? I am worried about doing what you have described as I am not on the official contract with my 2G iPhone. Contract runs out with orange shortly and will be going onto the official 02 one, just to have piece of mind with the insurance etc etc.

I don't bother with mobile insurance with non-contract phones. My 2G iPhone only cost me £169 new.

I'm getting a 3G from work and will probably get a touch for my music, podcasts and personal apps. Best of both worlds.

I don't really use my iPhone as a phone that much.

They aren't made very well IMO, mine has a wonky screen and also it's all scratched up after 2 months of careful ownership

What's not made well? 2G, 3G or the Touch?

My 2G up until the recent issue has been through the mill and came out ok. That's one of the reasons I may go for a Touch as it is metal. Not bothered a out the one work will provide as it will be covered anyway! :D
