I have a canon 1100D. I bought it about 18 months ago. About 6 months ago I sent it in for repair under warranty for an error 30 shutter mechanism something something BUT it would still take pictures just fine. And it came back fixed for a couple of months but then the same error came up. I don't use the camera very much so it hasn't bothered me toooo much but now I'm using it for work I should probably get it sorted.

It is the body only that is causing the error as I have tried other lenses.

Option 1- get something like a 400D body for £90 from LCE
Option 2- pay for it to be repaired.
Option 3- ?????

How much worse would a 400D be? Would my lenses be compatible?

Lenses should all work but if it was repaired 6 months ago then I'd be contacting Canon again or whoever repaired it.

Its reasonable to expect an slr to take well into tens of thousands of shots

I'd be taking it back to the retailer for repair

As everyone else has said get it fixed the repair should carry a warranty and the camera should still be working perfectly after such light usage!
