Broken Card or Not

I was just playing BF2 and the screen went all funny then the computer rebooted.

I have just installed OCCT 3.1 and ran the graphics test.

Here are some photos from my phone.

And now a screen print



Now where are the white blocks from the screen print.

Any clues

Thats easy to work out

Screen print reads straight from the video frame buffer

Your problem is on your gfx cards output stage

If I unselect Error Checking The dougnut bit moves and no white blocks.

Im confused.

Just ran 3DMarks Vantage (temps not as high as OCCT) and not white blocks.


So is it faulty or not.

Turn up the fan speed to 75% in a something ATI tools or Rivatuner and see if the same thing happens. Usually artifacting occurs when something is too far overclocked/too hot or the memory is dead. I imagine it's one of the first options.

75% Fan via CCC. Temps stay a lot lower . But I still get the white blocks.

But why not with error checking unselected.

I'm not sure tbh, try playing BF2 with the fan speed increased and that should solve your original problem.

Well had a quick go on BF2 just now no problems (so far) (was a lot hotter last night)
But when I run OCCT with error checking selected I still get the white blocks.

Very confused

Ok redone the OCCT test with out error checking and I get very small flickers of squares (red or black)

Error checking still has errors.

Even with the fan @ 100% VRM temps get up to 120c

So looks like my cards duff.

Furmarks is showing artis (green about a pixel size so you have to look closely to see)

its a design flaw with your card. nowt you can do about it i guess.
