I was given an Asus Z97 Gryphon Armor Edition motherboard to test out and was offered it if I wanted it and if it worked.

so anyway once I got it home I checked it over and theres a pin missing and what looks like a pin broken at the end. as far as I can tell both pins are VCC so I thought I would give it a go.. so tried my lads 4590 in it and his ram but nope no joy..

so is there any bodges that could maybe save the board? or is it a novelty paper weight?

was hoping to get my oldest lad onto an intel system and get rid of the FX8350 and crosshair v formula z board

Im going to stress test it later and make sure all the expansion ports are working if alls good Im going to go looking for a CPU and build it up for my lad.

Won't the ram be running in single channel?
yea Im wondering what affect this would have on performance.

Im also starting to wonder if there is an issue with the RAM Ive used as when I put it back into the system it came out off I had to mess around with swapping them about before it would boot.

Ive tried more RAM on the board I used the RAM from my own system that I know there is no issues with but still no joy. just the first 2 slots working.
If I use the 3rd or 4th slot it wont even post.
