I have a Ducky Shine 3 (red switch) at the moment which i have been very happy with since i got it a couple years ago, But recently the "W" key has stared to only register presses 50% of the time :-(
At 1st i as like ok no problem I'll just RMA it but after checking with OC it seems ducky only give a one year warranty. Not great for a £150 keyboard

Anyway so i am looking for a replacement mechanical keyboard but somthing that will last longer then a few years.

Maybe built like "TANKS" but they still use Cherry MX keys, if it is just a worn out 'W' key then it is worth checking out if it is easy enough to remove and replace as a new switch costs less than £2 (if you already have the necessary equipment).

Replacing the one switch might be a bit of a chore given that it's plate mounted. Have to get handy with some soldering in order to do it all :)

Still much cheaper than a whole new board.

I had a Ducky shine 3 TKL Brown switches and its been very dissapointing. Over half the LED's have failed and about half of the keys only register 50% of the time. Very unhappy with the product. :(

All the problems started after the 12 month warrenty was over unforunately.

Think i'll go for a extended warrenty on the next one.

I honestly never even thought about replacing the broken switch, But I have nothing to lose so I am gonna give it a try. Keyboard is junk now anyway I cant realy make it worse lol.
If I mess it up, which I proberly will i'll take a look at the Filco's

Anyone know where i can find a guide on replacing Ducky switchs ?
