Hi guys,
I noticed this morning that my duke 125 sounded a bit rough but it ran fine until I came to some traffic lights when it started to splutter.

If I don't keep revving it it will stall but will fire back up quickly, if I rev it high it pops and a bit of black smoke comes out the exhaust.

Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

Been riding it in the rain recently? Could be damp in the plug cap/lead,spray them with wd40

Could be a dodgy plug

I have yeah but it has been fine until this morning, the plug was the first thing I though of though so I will spray some wd40 around those areas later and see if that fixes it.

Seems like it's misfiring to me hence all the smoke, spray the coil aswell where your plug lead goes into( other end of the cap)

Just sprayed some wd40 on the coil pack and that seems to have sorted it, but it may be heat related as it was fine when the engine was cold this morning.

The coil pack is right at the front of the bike though with nothing to protect it from water so it's no surprise if that is the cause.
