Hi guys im new around here, i have had my pc for over a year now and like a dummy i broke my fan cable connector when inserting it back into the motherboard.

This is the details i have about my fan:

Xigmatek 120mm Cooling Fans:
- Frame dimension 120 x 120 x 25mm
- Fan speed 1500 RPM
- Fan airflow 68.33 CFM
- Connector 3-pin
- Voltage rating 12V
- Noise level 20dB(A)

What cable should i buy from overclockers because i searched and i could only see one which was 60CM! Need help guys. Its definitely the cable as i connected my other fan to the motherboard connector and its working with that one.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/search_results.php?sortby=&groupid=1929&search=3+pin+fan+cable

This is the only one i can see that should do the job if im correct (probably not lol)

Is it not possible to just replace the little white connector on the cable? Its loose when i connect it because i inserted it the wrong way around and broke it :S

Thanks

You need a 3 pin fan header. To remove the header, you do this:

What you will need is something thin that can push in the pin of the little connector at the end of each cable. Since breaking the pin remover I have been using it but you could also use a paperclip, tweezers, really anything which as a thin but fairly sturdy end.

Nail scissors are also useful.

EDIT:

This
has a diagram I wanted to find.

You can buy replacement connectors and terminals from a couple of places but they can't be mentioned on here due to rules.

Is the connector broken or is it just the terminal not making a connection? If it's a dodgy connection then you might just need to remove the terminals and squeeze them together to get the contact working again.

Its the little white connector that sits over the 3 pins on the motherboard which is broken/loose. It gets no power the the fan. I have the same exact fan above it and it works fine on the same 3 pin connection on the board and sits in firm so its definately the cable connector.

What is the terminal? the motherboard connection? If so thats fine.

Thanks for the info guys but im still unsure here what to do especially with that diagram above.

i just want another cable for it, as i would feel unsure about tampering with the connector.
