Does anyone else suffer from broken icons with windows 7?

I keep having to constantly rebuild the icon cache on a weekly basis, and i dont understand why my icons keep doing this?

Not a huge problem at all just a tad annoying.

I don't have a clue how to fix this, but my new install has this problem!
Haven't had it before (had win7 since 2007 i think)

1stly what is rebuilding the icon cache?
2ndly I'm sort of hijacking this thread as i want a cure too :D SORRY!

How are you guys deleting the iconcache.db file from the system.

Usually it won't re-build the cache properly if explorer is still running so you have to kill
explorer.exe then delete the file and then run explorer again.

Way to do it below:

open task manager
in process tab find explorer.exe and end the process. (you will have a comfirmation box come up to confirm you want to do this)
in the "File" menu choose new task
and put in/copy this command:

cmd /c del %userprofile%\AppData\Local\IconCache.db /a

open the new task box again now and type in explorer.exe to re-instate explorer again.

All your icons should now show up properly without a restart.

Hope this helps you guys out.
