Bit of a weird post this one. Have done some net trawling, but not found anything thta was of help, so thought i would try the great OCUK.

Have just fired up my PS3 and all looks good in the dashboard and also Blu-Ray/DVD playback. The issue happens what you play a game. There is a white line running from top to bottom of the screen(not fully solid, but almost, heavy pixelation) and the rest of the screen has a lot of pixelation/artifacting going on.

I have swapped HDMI cables, plugged directly into TV (by-passing AV amp) and using a different HDMI input, but the problem persists. I have a PC running at 1080 output and that shows no problems.

Has anyone ever experienced anything similar and if so, how did you fix it?

Thanks in advance

Paul

Sounds like a duff GPU i'm afraid mate, unfortunately it happens sometimes and can't be fixed at your end. A call to sony tech support should sort ya (08705 99 88 77)

They typically get a replacement to you within a week (assuming it isn't a 60gig which is out of production so they'll have to repair your unit as opposed to giving you a replacement so it takes a bit longer).

If you have just bought it I'd take it back for an exchange, sounds like faulty graphics.

Actually yeah, upon rereading your post it looks like its a relatively new unit, this advice is better, take it back to the store you bought it from for a new unit.
