Broken into again

Im not familiar with the jazz but does it have those pop out rear windows as opposed to the wind down ones? IF so you can easily break into those with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers leaving no damage. Had to do it twice with my first car due to locking keys in it.

Funny u should say that. I was thinking of NOT locking my doors anymore. I've not lost anything except afew squid. If they couldnt get entry easily, I am sure i would have needed a new driver side window,at the cost of my glass excess of 60 quid.

Had a mate that left his old Merc unlocked with the glove box open showing there was nothing in there. Someone still lobbed a brick through the window to get in without checking the doors first.

I thought the Tennis Ball technique was a fake myth? As Mythbusters proved that its not possible.

Yes, it was just someone standing out of shot unlocking it with the remote key in the original video.

The thing that worries me is that i'm effectively helpless in this. Until the car gets proper stolen the cops wont bother.

If you don't lock your doors and then the insurance company won't pay out.

Unless they have x-ray vision, they couldnt possibly realize that the container of cod liver oil capsules in the glove box contained some small change.

Maybe the criminal who broke into your car was suffering from sudden unexpected joint pain and vitamin D deficiency?

(or just assumed the pills in there might be more exciting)

Sorry to hear that, unfortunately once they know they can get into your car they will keep coming back

My mate had his door bent back twice, first they took his speakers, then took his loose change a few weeks later. He is pretty unlucky though, he then bought a mondeo only to have them drill a hole in his fuel tank and nick is fuel!!!

Leave glove box / ashtrays etc open and empty and hope for the best!

The thread title says Broken into again - so this is not the first time for you and yet you still chose to leave money in the car?

I'm not trying to be offensive or overly critical - rather I want to help you to help yourself.

If it's local scumbags they probably have you marked out as a bit of mug who leaves nickable stuff in his car. You need to stop that right now.

I can pretty much guarantee you are going to be broken into again at sometime in the near future, your car is now known as an easy target with usually some loot to be had. Thieves who break into cars are opportunists - give them an opportunity and they will take it! How about you just make sure that next time they break in they get nothing - if it's not worth their time (and the risk) to break in, they will soon stop.

:)
