aftermarket alarm yes.. but no battery = no alarm.
can't claim for it really. i will lose ncb.. which will kill me, and I have a fairly large excess. so therefore it's easier for me to buy new stuff than it is to do insurance. I would be raped with the costs :(

It wasnt a CAT1 alarm with battery backup then? :(

unfortunately not, they put just a bog standard imobiliser on the sports. and i added a cheapo alarm along with the remote for the central locking.
the store have no cameras or anything in the car park, reported everything to them however

someone from my work (Tesco's.... so same sort of location) used to have a great ICE system in his BMW.... he used to drive into work with it on full, bass going nuts etc..... then he'd park it there for 9 hours a day... like clockwork everyday.

the people that nicked everything from that car knew he'd be in work for 9 hours, and knew he had a good system because he had it on full every dam day he came into park it...

...he doesn't use it near Tesco anymore :o

so, the point of my post is whenever coming to the end of a trip to park somewhere public, NEVER have the radio on anything other than "normal" volume. I know that's not the point of a system but just doing this will reduce the chances of even a oppotunist hearing you as you park up for your shopping/work day.

Car park security cameras maybe caught something? ask the store? you never know i guess?

he's already said that there isn't any.... Same with my store.... all cameras in or around the car park are pointing to the Exit's of the store, to catch thiefs as they run out the door... Car park security = 0
