Some of you may have seen my other topic where I was getting error (28). Well, I sent the ipod of to apple and they sent it back and said it's been misused.

So, I brought myself a screen as just before sending it off I seen a crack on the screen. I installed that today and opened itunes and it said it was still in recovery mode. So, I click to restore and the apple logo comes on the ipod with a bar under it but it don't move. After about 1min itunes just comes up with a (28) error still.

What could be broken on it, making the 28 error come on?

Thanks

But, if it was I'm sure it would not work at all?
Like the screen would not come on..

All I can think of doing is remove the battry and then connect it again. :(

I would say the logic board may be faulty. Have had in the past occasions where the restore gets most of the way through and then errors, this is sometimes recoverable but I've not been able to recover them when they dont get past the first little bit.

Have you tried putting it in to DFU mode and trying a restore? This is pretty much your last hope and if it doesn;t work then its time for a new logic board/iPod.

It don't go in DFU, I've tried loads. Itunes always says it's in recovery mode.

I don't think they is any point trying it fix it then, as they are about £65. Might aswell just sell as spares and then buy maybe a Ipad seeing as I've been looking at getting one anyway.

Thanks
