Friend of mine spilt a drink on her laptop, Toshiba Satellite C660-1LD wondering whats the best thing to do with it. Its so new getting parts off another machine doesn't seem likely.

Stick it in an airing cupboard after it occurs for a good while (few days) to dry out.

Just make sure it was turned off and not turned back on after the spillage!

Tea or coffee I think. No they kept using it till it wouldn't turn on any more. The motherboard is gone in it. Repair shop has looked at it and want a huge amount to fix it. Basically its not an economic repair.

I was more thinking of clever ideas to get around this, use/sell the parts, source a used motherboard etc.

What about looking on ebay for a similar laptop, spares or repairs, and just make 100% sure the motherboard in the laptop works?

If you don;t think its worth it, sell the laptop on ebay as spares or repairs and put it towards a new laptop.
