This monitor i got from ebay for my son's birthday but buyer never said it had issue and ebay refused to do anything. so trying to get this cable replaced or repaired.

This cable goes from the front bezel sensors for all the controls on/off brigtness etc to the circuit board. Both ends of the cable have a white plug same plug both ends, i think the other end is still on the bezel will have to take monitor apart to check as the way they put it together i wasnt able to take it out unless i break two pieces of plastic on the bezel.

Trouble is monitor has perfect screen otherwise and it seems a shame to throw it away.

can this cable be replaced/repaired. Took it to local electronics shop but they were not interested.

Looks like some type of JST, there are multiple pin pitches and designs.

If you search on JST connector you may be able to match something up.

all cables can be repaired! Must like Trigger's broom, just replace the wires and connector.

As decto said, looks like a pretty standard connector type. You will need to know the distance between the center of one pin to the next to get a good match, called pin pitch.

Thanks Both will look more into fixing the cable, but wonder why local electronics shops didnt offer a way of fixing it.

They lack the skill is my bet. Fine pin-pirch connectors are a b*tch to repair, but it's doable if you find a good electronics guy!!! I'm one, but I'm up in the North-East, and distanced from my workplace so have no access to the usual tools :(

If the old plug is still attached, you may be able to remove it then release the connectors from the plug with a micro screwdriver or small pin.
There is usually a metal prong on on side that acts as a retention clip.

Most likely the local shop won't carry any connectors like that and they don't want to burn any time on something they can't charge a decent amount for. Business rates, tax, national insurance, overheads. Likely they need to take £25-30 per hour to break even.
