Broken my car. Spec me a replacement.

Ok, so my 1992 2.6 190e is FUBAR.
Before my 190, I had a 3.0 mk3 supra.

I am looking to replace with something that fits the following criteria:

Reliable (as possible)
Manual gearbox
Relatively economical (in relation to my previous car)
Slightly cheaper to insure (than a 2.6 190e would be)
Sporty looking or Retro-cool
Not boring... (revvy and fun to drive? - but would consider turbo diesel)
Preferably not french

No real preference on size/practicality/hatch/saloon etc

MAX budget 3k.

So come on, what would be your ideal car that fits these criteria?

E30 318iS, E30 325i Sport, if you need four doors then an E30 325i SE M Technics.

May not be cheaper to insure, though.

Great fun. Lovely engine, too.

Get an ace one for £3,000, without any trouble at all.
