Got a mates ps3 here that his wee one put some coins in:(

The coins have been removed but the drive just makes a rapid clicking noise as disk is pushed in and it wont let it go in properly. Had the drive totally dismanteled and no obstructions anywhere but guessing that some bit is sitting in the wrong place possibly?

Any suggestions what i should be looking for/at?

Not under warranty so thats not an option.

Go easy please as i am a console newby :)

cheers

*cough* `Blu ray drive *cough* ;)

If that were me I would have it in bits again and double check everything goes to where it should be. I would guess that there is an elastic band type thing that has been dislodged by the coins. Purely a guess however.

Cheers :)

Will have another look.... its not mine though as not a console fan.

Would be good to fix it without replacing the whole drive though :)

take out the continuous play insurance for a fiver and send it to them. They will swap it over for you within 2 working days and you can cancel the insurance after a month, and just take it again in future if needed.
