I've been having trouble getting Nvidia drivers installed, I've even done a system restore which hasn't helped. I keep receiving the following error.

So I'm trying to go through and delete any and all references to Nvidia off my PC. I have tried RegSeeker and the Reg Cleaner in CCleaner. All reported the same broken entries, try to remove them, and when I re-scan they are still there!!

I decided I'd export my Registry and edit it with notepad. However, the entries are not listed in the export. If I try to delete them or even select them in the Registry I get the following error.

Basically as you can see, it's the ones without any [+] symbols which are causing me grief. And to me, they all look like they could be related to Nvidia. (i.e. nView, MultiMon, CustomRez, DualView...)

Is there any other software out there that could get rid of these (or are they already delelted?!?!).

Thanks for any help!!

try installing drivers from setup again. it looks like your current installation is corrupt

Hi, I can't. If I run any of the Nvidia Setup.exe files (from any version) it runs through the installation as if it worked fine. But then at the end says "nothing has been modified".

I might just format the PC. Lol.

You need to reset the permissions on the registry keys. Right click on each key and choose permissions --> advanced, take ownership of the key and give yourself full control. Once you have done this you will then be able to delete them.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion, however I have already tried this as well. I can add myself and give myself full control of the key. However it then reports an error "Access is Denied" when I try to delete it.

Very strange.

I doubt re-installing SP2 would fix the problem would it? Or would a format be best (it's been a good few months since I last did one).

Cheers. :)
