Hi all,

Not very happy!! My other half left our SLR (Minolta Dynax 404si) on the side in the office with the lens still on. This was right next to the bin, which the dog decided would be nice to try and eat resulting in the SLR taking a tumble.

At first I though he had buggered the body up as it wouldn't auto focus, however it turns out that he has snapped 2 of the 3 connectors off for the actual lens.

The lens still works IF you pull it back against the body otherwise it rests away by upto 5mm :(

Can I buy a replacement connector or will I have to send it off to be repaired?

Also, the dog decided to eat the dust cover that goes over the lens hole on the body. Can I buy another one of these?

I know its only a cheap camera but until I can afford a digi SLR I am stuck with this. And tbh, it can take some nice piccies for a starter SLR

Possibly but its better to get it repaired.

Sure ebay probably, but cover it with some thing for the mean time, not cling film because its static could affect the camera.

which lens was it?
It's probably cheaper to buy a s/h one than get it repaired.

& there should be no problem buying a body cap for a Minolta AF/Sony Alpha mount, in fact I may well have a spare.
