Do these games run OK on Vista?

Short thread! Great games though - classic 2D point n click and something we STILL need more of.

One of the best games of its type.

Not very familiar with ScummVM - buying the CDs and running through that or are you suggesting 'other' means? Prefer the former.

I was having this very conversation with a friend today, we need more games like these!

Apparently a new Monkey Island is coming out, although I dount it will be like it used to be!

Broken Sword 2 was immesnse, the quiality of the 2D graphics just gave it a quality of its own. These new 3D attempts just dont cut it for me. Going further back remeber Underneath a Steel Sky?

Ah i loved beneath a steel sky! :D

Though the broken sword serise is so awesome! Scumm is the best way to play outside of dos box :)

Basically you just download Scummvm and copy across a few data files from your CD. Perfectly legal so don't worry about that.

Can I point out something. :)

If you buy the "SoldOut Software" modern copies of BS1+2. It actually installs ScummVM with the games, and should run fine with vista. When you install the game it just creates shortcuts to launch the game straight away.

If they don't just download the latest version of ScummVM and import them. :)

Hehe, Playing through them + Monkey Island 1+2 recently myself! Classics for sure :D

ScummVM is certainly the best way to go about playing these games, especially since it has some nice optional upscaling features too to improve the visuals somewhat

I'm a massive BS fan too. such fantastic games.

I rember when number 3 moved to '3d' graphics :(. So much of the atmosphere and 'feeling' of the game was captured in the 2d hand drawn art work, it was simply lost when the game went 'modern'.

They play without ScummVM or anything like that. I bought 1 and 2 on disc for about £5 a few months ago and they played no problem.
