So just had a load of ceramic tiles/slabs delivered for the garden and there are maybe 18 tiles broken, doesn't sound too many but thats about £500 worth of tiles.

Not sure how its supposed to work and I assume our contracter will deal with it. Have not had a chance to chat to the contractor yet, will see him tomorrow, just curious as to if some breakage is a given or not......

A quick guestimate at the other unbroken ones it's probably around 10%, maybe a bit more.

They are big assed patio slabs so should not be fragile. Not fussed if it's normal and I expect a lot of them can be used for edges.

Will see what contractor says tomorrow as unsure of supplier to check breakage.

Ta. :)

They came on 4 pallets, all boxed up and sealed, contractors shifted them round the back of the house today so only noticed the broken ones this evening.

You could accept a few broken ones but given the size and cost of each tile that many broken seems excessive to me. See what they say tomorrow.

*edit, contractor just texted me about it, says its excessive, with this sort of tile he expects 2 or 3 broken and there are 18. He has taken pictures(I didn't notice him here today) and asked for replacements. So hopefully get sorted.
