hi, I have a 32GB USB drive which i have been using just fine for about a year now and all of a sudden it has stopped working.
when I plug it in the light briefly flashes then goes out, the computer recognises a "USB MEMORY BAR USB Device" has been plugged in and all seems fine until i try using it. each time i try it just says "Please insert a disk into Memory Disk"
it was rather expensive and being 32GB i would really like to recover it:(

Thanks

The disk might be fine, it might be that caddy that has died. You could try opening it, retrieving the disk and plugging that in directly via sata (+ power cable).

will Get Data Back work if i cannot access the drive?

You metioned when you plug it in the computer recognises a "USB MEMORY BAR USB Device" has been plugged in so it's worth a shot. Install Get Data Back, plug in USB pen drive and then just run the program. If it can see the drive then it should be able to recover the data.

What make is it and did you buy it from a reputable retailer? I ask because some flash memory products come with a "lifetime" warranty. My 32GB Kingston Data Traveller certainly did, just hope I don't have to avail of it any time soon!

just tried both, neither could see/read the drive
will i be able to send it back without its original packaging etc?
