Broken window - AGAIN

I think someone out there must really dislike the look of old Astras because another window was smashed by some passing scrote on Friday. I bought the car in April, and this is the second time I've found the window broken. This time, they took the stereo too.

This time, I had parked up outside the DHL depot in Bradley Stoke to collect a parcel (the previous attack was in Southmead, so unlikely to be the same people). I only left the car for about 5 or 10 minutes and came back to a wrecked window.

So does anyone have any suggestions for booby trapping my car?

Are you leaving the face on the stereo?

Easy pickings on an old car like that. So make sure you either take it with you, or put it under the seat. Once they realise you have figured this out, they will more than likely leave you alone (if it really is the same scrote)

why not get protective glass this time? the stuff that cna't shatter.

Do you realise how much it would cost to replace all the windows in an astra with bespoke glass? A lot.

Install a relay, wired into the central locking system or suchlike that connects the battery to the door handle when the car's locked so if someone tries to open the door it zaps them, james bond style

Make sure it doesn't interact with the chassis when you're actually using stuff though or odd things might happen with things that use the chassis for a ground..

Or, you could install a car alarm - £30 ebay.
