So, as per a previous post, my GFs screen on the X10 has just stopped responding to touch. All hardware buttons work and the phone seems to function fine, just no amount of touching does anything.

Haev googled, and no other problems of this nature seem to exist.

I've flashed back the standard Sony ROM through the SEUS, but now what?

The phone was Orange, so do I call them (less than a year old), or do I contact SE?

Unless you have Orange cover they won't want anything to do with it. I had a Sony Ericsson (Can't remember which model - but it was brand new) with them on an 18 month contract after about 9 months the screen went on it - wasn't cracked or anything (it was a slidy phone so i assume the connections came loose) anyway i phoned them up looking for them to repair or replace it and they basically said it's Sony's problem not ours.

Does the distance selling act not cover stuff like this? I'm happy to send it to SE however. I rang Orange and asked if it had insurance (I couldn't remember if it was this or the Desire). They said they don't offer insurance on the X10. lololol

DONT send it to orange , takes ages and they like to play the blame game.

just phone sony erriccson , they send you a warranty form and address, you print it and fill it in , you post your handset on its own away , 5ish days later you get a fixed or new handset off your postman

ive done it twice , the second time i didnt even phone SE about it , just sent it straight to the warranty/repair place. got a new handset each time

i didnt even need receipts

As andy said contact sony ericsson to get it rapaired. Had to do it with my X10 & it was quick & painless & took about 1 week. The repair company also gives you a link to a web page where you can see the status & if it has been repaired or a new phone sent to you.
