I have a Brother MFC-J5335DW printer / scanner. It used to work perfectly as a scanner when connected to my PC via a USB cable.
It now pops up the following message "To connect to your PC, the software which was supplied with this machine must be installed on your PC."
What has stopped it working satisfactorily and why and how do I return it to its previous state?
As an aside, I managed to scan a document that I need urgently to email out by scanning to a memory stick but that doesn't really address the change in behaviour.
Brother's "Support" is too busy to answer - I wonder why?
Eventually got a response from Brother Support - they have advised that I should run an "Uninstall Tool" that they have provided and install a shiny NEW "Full Driver & Software Package" - they don't know what has changed.
