Brother NO TONER message...

HI Guys,
Hoping that some one can help me, I recently installed un-branded toners into my Brother DCP-L3510 CDW laser printer, they worked for a month...

However, now it just says 'No Toner. Open Cover and Install Toner'.

Is there a reset code or something to get past this message...?

On the side of the toner cartridge there should be an optical window. Take a small section of tape, and tape this optical window over, re-install cartridge and try again.

It should be a small round window on the side, however it's possible Brother has changed the system so it can't be seen. Both my Brother printers are older then your model.

Does giving the toner cartridge a shake (with the cap on!) still work with toner cartridges?

Yes you can try, just be careful no toner comes out, best doing it outside just in case.
