I recently bought brothers in arms on pc ( the new one ) i am enjoying it however its very laggy in places and it does't seem to matter how much i turn the graphics down.

In most places i get good fps , however if my sqaud is close by or i am looking at them my fps drops to as low as 20, it seems really weird how it lags. As most of the time it runs fine, constant 60 fps then it jsut drops to 20 fps for no apperant reason. It seems worse when i am behind my sqaud, but fine if i am ahead of them.

I should have a good enough rig to run it i have 260 gtx sli. A e8600 at 4 ghz and 4 gigs of good ram. Is this some sort of bug in the game is there a way to fix it. I hear its not opitmised for sli but shouldn't one card be enough anyways.

Is this some sort of bug is there anyway to fix it.

thats very strange! Mine runs great with a AMD 6000+ and a 8800gt 512mb OC. mine runs very well with no lag or stutter:) i turn v.sync on which makes a differance.

I've been playing arround with various settings taken from the following sites

UT3 engine tweaks
http://www.tweakguides.com/UT3_1.html

Game forum
http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=69844

Also note you can get AA working via NV control panel as per below, note the games *.INI file has AF set to x4 by default too so you could lower to x2 by editing the file, with regard to the NV control panel you could leave AA as off and AF as use application and select all the other options as performance ones, try the settings below for the *.INI file, the purge setting is only a cool one where setting to 600 means dead bodies stay for 10 mins rather than 1 min

Nvidia Control Panel settings

AF Use App
AA Mode - Off
AA Trans - Off
Force Mipmaps - Trilinear
Text Filt LOD - Allow
Text Filt Qual - Performance

Config changes as follows applied to below file after first making a copy of the file, then after applying the changes made the file read-only

\My Documents\My Games\BIA Hells Highway\SumacGame\Config\SumacEngine.ini

[Engine.Engine]
TimeBetweenPurgingPendingKillObjects=600

[Engine.GameEngine]
bSmoothFrameRate=True
MinSmoothedFrameRate=30
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=100

[Engine.Client]
MinDesiredFrameRate=60.000000

[SystemSettings]
Trilinear=True
MaxAnisotropy=2

I had this problem with my 8800gtx sli, just switch the program profile in the nvidia control panel from SLI to Single card mode. sorted it for me:)

Thanks i did the sli thing and it seems to work :)
Is there anywhere i can download a ini file for the game to make the graphics better, instead of me messing with it, theres so many settings its hard to find the ones i want.

I'm running a 8800GTX and XP, below are the mods I've done, as it's the UT3 engine then many other tweaks can be used as found at this UT3 tweak guide, make sure you make a copy of the below *.INI file before editing it though

Spent some time tweaking, now running 4xAA and 8xAF, no jagglies and game runs smoother ;) Characters look more detailed and body parts linger for 10 mins now, also turned down LCD brightness and in game gamma so darker and less cartoony..........
