hi guys, hope this is in the right section?.. I recently brought a new computer from overclockers. all seems fine, then I play games on it. majority of the time it is fine how ever at random times the fps just drops and the game just becomes so laggy. I have been running games on max settings with fps at 80+ but random times it just seems to give up and drops for a few mins. any thoughts to why this happens? I thought maybe the ram? but I cant see it using all my ram since I have 8gb on the gpu and 8gb in the machine, and 1 of the games I play recommends only 4gb... it seems to happen in all the games so its just a bit frustrating. I have lowered the settings with the same results.. I am no expert on pcs so I am hoping you guys could give me some insight. thanks :D

Only on stick of ram ?
Dual channel works best for Intel gen 6 and above, can get dropped frames a lot.
Seen its common on aline ware builds that ship it off with one stick.
Might not be the issue here but food for thought

Post the specs and a few pics of the inside of the computer? Mid air diagnosis isn't frequently possible lol :)

sorry for the long reply guys. I have been busy with work, I brought the pc from overclockers. I have a amd ryzen 1800x, radeon rx 580 8gb, corsair vengeance 3000mhz ddr4 (2x4gb) 2tb sshd, if anymore info is needed plz just ask. the max temp of the pc is 75 so it shouldn't be anything to do with that? if pic is needed of the pc I am more than happy to send, but I trust overclockers building technique so... but plz if u still feel its warrented I can post a pic :)

With which games are you having problems? How are you connected to the internet? In particular, are you using wifi or power line adapters or both?

fixed

If it's a new system with Windows 10, make sure all that Game DVR crap is switched off. That might be causing problems if you're recording your gameplay in the background continuously.

smite, shadows of war, battlefield, codww11, gta5. many others lol, but I mean smite for example is the 4gb ram required. and I still have the issue there, I am connected by wire, as I find wireless is pretty crap in my house for gaming lol

the recording etc all off so that is no issue, I have not returned the pc.

I have not spoke to overclockers atm about the problem because why would I bother them when I can ask other experts?

amraam plz don't say fixed because the problem isn't.

That is what the warranty is for. If it isn't working as it should be then I would be onto OCUK. I mean if you bought a brand new Car that didn't work properly you would go back to the dealer ?

Of course people on here can try and help, but you have paid for a pre-built system so they should provide support.

yea I understand this, but if I get in contact with them they will most likely need it to be sent back, which means time without it xD where as if I try to figure it out with the help of you guys then the problem gets sorted with no hassle.

The fault might be visual and something we just cannot troubleshoot over the forums.

Sending it back to Over Clockers would mean you'd have to go without it but once you get the PC back it'll be as good as new.
