I'm just setting up Edge as another browser for a different device and it's a pain, just like last time. So many features and options that don't customise what i want customised, and newly introduced features that i have zero interest for.

I read an article the other day that Chrome is introducing a trial of AI tab grouping. Chrome will auto group tabs for you. The problem i see outside of mistakes and poor grouping is encouraging an untidy experience. When you reach 20,50,100 tabs even, it's time to delete! Tab grouping i see hiding the mess and causing lots of havoc, isn't that what bookmarks were supposed to achieve. Bookmarks i guess got forgotten when sleeping tabs and history bar became a given.

Extensions for general shopping websites? What is this? Please leave my browser alone, it works fine as is. Or at least it did untill features like download bar were ******* removed.

Is it a race to the bottom with browsers? Is there some master plan? Is this just the natural development cycle of needless bs known as capitalism? Nope, i'm just getting slightly aged :p

What are peoples thoughts on the world of browsers today?

I don't have a problem with Edge for the most part, but there are times I start up a stock installation of it and the amount of junk that is enabled by default starts to give me flashbacks of the era of Internet Explorer 6 laden with third party toolbars.

Jeeze, i forgot about them. Though Android and Windows are trying their hardest to make search bars centre of attention again.
