Hi All , I have been reading a lot of threads about Chrome,Firefox and other browsers ,am i right is saying that Chrome is the fastest browser ,but Firefox has better Security and addons ?

IE8 is the most secure in that it requests permission etc if a website tries to do something, anything(?). However IE looks ugly, is cumbersome and offers no valuable extensions or customisation.

Firefox and Chrome are pretty much as secure as each other out the box. Firefox can very easily be as secure as IE8 with a bunch of extensions (NoScript, Adblock Plus+, Customise Google etc).

Chrome is faster at page rendering/pipelining etc out of the box but Firefox can be made to be just as fast with the Fasterfox set to "Optimised" which enabled pipelining requests and sets the value to 6 (within RFC spec). It also enables some rendering and menu tweaks in Firefox to further improve the experience.

Chrome offers extensions too but nowhere near the number that is available for Firefox.

Use what you're happy with!

In short though, whatever the others can do, Firefox can also do :p

Firefox is the most versatile but you shouldn't dismiss Chrome or Opera. As said, try them all out over a period of a few days. You will find yourself using one more than the others.

When I had Chrome I was always going back to FF because it struggled with many websites I visited, plus I am not a fan of it's UI. I used Opera almost solidly for a few months, but again found I went back to Firefox for one reason or another every day. Eventually I just stopped using Opera! That's my own experience concerning the way I like to work and surf the web. Others will have different experiences.

If you do choose Firefox, you need to use this icon:
