browser opens so slows times out

My girlfriends laptop has just developed problem opening home page,it takes so
long trying to open times out and fails.Shes on the same wifi as me sat same time and mine opens perfect yet hers cant even open her homepage,shes not
done anything or installed any new software etc as both were in same room online together.Its been driving me mad as tried everything but cant figure it out,ive downloaded firefox on mine reinstlled it on hers still same problem.Ive tried auto config in address bar and (Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" and
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 30.This helped the homepage to finally open just insanely slow.Any ideas as to whats gone wrong with browser
cant open pages properly and how to fix it,its a new Toshiba laptop with core 2
processor and 4GB Ram on vista so its not the laptop.Tried everything and know
and stuck so any help would be great,its not the wifi as both on same and mine
still ok,cheers for any help..

Check proxy settings in your browser internet options. A virus/malware etc could have slipped in and altered them.
