Browsers using my GPU?

Do certain browsers run off the GPU instead of CPU?

I've noticed recently that my 780 is getting to temps of 63 when Chrome is loaded. I just installed Waterfox and it's doing the same as Chrome. I downloaded Firefox which is not effecting my GPU, and Internet Explorer also doesn't effect my GPU. I have reinstalled Chrome too, just 15mins ago actually.

Anyone know what's up? does the same happen to you?

It's something I want to solve as my custom fan profile ramps my GPU fan at 50% just for Chrome.

Chrome uses Hardware Acceleration where available, so yea it will use your GPU.

You can disable it if you want, but its best to keep it on for Flash and what not.

PRetty much all major browsers uses the GPU to help speed up page rendering. If you don't like it, in Firefox/Waterfox you can turn off hardware acceleration in the settings. I'm not sure how to do this in IE/Chrome though.

Firefox is being pretty good. I have all my usual tabs open, hardware acceleration is on and temps are 2c over idle. Chrome and Waterfox ramp up to 63c with just the default page open.

[EDIT] Turned off GPU accel in Chrome and it still does it. I noticed that with Chrome open my GPU clocks to 100% and stays there.
