Over the last four days on numorus occasions when visiting websites it will stall on " loading page " half way through ... While doing this and trying another website at the same time it will just say " loading page " but nothing shows. Suddenly give it 1-3mins and every page will load fine. Newsgroups and Torrents unaffected!

Been fine for the last year :p , i did a countdown check on ocuk and at one point it took 1min 20secs to load. Tried it again after the stall saying on next browse of ocuk and it took 2secs

have you got antivirus and antispyware installed?

Antivirus installed but it's not running , services disabled... Only use it to do a quick hard drive check. Been this way for a year so its not that as its not being used

What I was getting at is that you may potentially have some sort of spyware/virus on your machine.

Visit http://housecall.trendmicro.com and do a scan, after that, I would patch your machine as much as possible, including getting your antivirus working again.

Then I would suggest empying your temporary internet files from the tools -> internet options page.

No actual viruses and/or spyware? Who's your ISP and what DNS servers are you using? Sounds like it could be DNS to me.

Bt Broadband...

Hmm Dns servers showing up as X ( connection not ok ) in speedtouch admin control , speedtouch 546 modem.

Disabled/Not OKConnectivity to DNS Server 1 (62.6.40.162)
Disabled/Not OKConnectivity to DNS Server 2 (194.72.0.98)

How do i change them?

That COULD be the reason then , they were ok a few months back..... Nice of bt broadband to tell us a dns change :(

Normally they are dynamically assigned by the ISP

Try the following:

194.72.9.38
194.74.65.69
194.72.9.34
194.72.9.38
194.74.65.68
194.74.65.69
194.72.0.98
194.72.0.114
62.6.40.162
62.6.40.178
194.72.6.57
194.73.82.242
194.73.73.172
194.73.73.173
194.72.9.44

1) Any idea how to get this speedtouch 546 to dynamically assign a Dns server?

2) Also can i do a telnet check for DNS servers the router is currently using , also read reports the admin software doesn't give the correct results for dns servers...

Still doing it ffs , seems when you load a website with a lot of images however small like loading the front page of gametrailers it stalls... loads... stalls and causes all other websites not to load.

I was going to post about 2hrs after the previous post but forgot lol , i noticed it was working ok with opera so i totaly removed firefox and all information regarding it on my system... Reinstalled firefox added my bookmarks and SO far its working ok , no idea what the hell happened.
