Is there a way, on my S7 Edge, I can browse webpages and still have the YouTube app or YouTube in the browser continue to play songs I listen to without pausing?

There are various ways to trick it into working with varying degrees of success - otherwise supposedly it is a feature of YouTube Premium :s it is one of the reasons I tend to use a Windows tablet for portable stuff rather than Android.

Which is worth every penny IMO.

Couldn't justify the price personally - compared to what I get from other online services for the same price. Unless they significantly added original content or other features I couldn't personally justify paying more than about half the price.

You do also get Google Play Music with it which is £9.99 alone, obviously only if that's of any use to you. I use GPM in the car and at work a lot. I watch more Youtube than TV at home so both suit me very well.

I already use Spotify and buy a fair bit of music from Amazon.

Thanks guys. I see there's a free one month trial of youtube premium on the play store. I wouldn't have minded making a one off payment for it but it seems it's a monthly subscription so no way am I bothering with that.

On Android, I use YouTube Vanced which has background/windowed playback
https://youtubevanced.com

I'm on the download page. It says
"For Non-Rooted Devices
Download YouTube Vanced APK if you have a Non-Rooted device. You will have to install additional MicroG package in order to be able login."

Will it tell me where to get the MicroG package?

It's at the bottom of this page

Vanced is superb. Latest builds or Google have broken Clowncast functionality though :/

Yeah, Vanced is the only reason I am still on Android. I wanted to move to iOS, but Youtube++ is a faff. So, Android it is. (Well, EMUI, a close approximation to Android).

Don't get me started. Recently bought a 12.9" iPad Pro and I end up using Vanced on my S8+ when I want to see videos because it is just 'better' by a mile for navigation etc...apart from clowncast recently being broke anyway!

What is Clowncast?

Edit: I was able to get Youtube++ on OK using Cydia something-or-another which involved plugging in to the computer, but has to be done every month as the certificate expires.

Chromecast! SwiftKey on my phone keeps auto correcting it and I've long since given up trying to teach it the correct spelling :o

Ah, thought so. :D Just checking in case I was missing something new and shiny.

Swiftkey has gone to ****, used to use it all the time on my iPhones and on Android, but recently the autocorrect is a disaster. Just recently gone back to GBoard, it does swipe typing now as well (probably has for ages!), and the autocorrect isn't crazy on it.

I am not sure about the Galaxy but in my Moto Z I can press and hold the recent apps button (or how ever is that called...the one that you can see all the apps running/open in the background) and get split screen/multi /window. Obviously they are not big but video could be played and below you have a website (not sure if link works as its blocked at work) Like this: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Ao74ymCP4Cz9geJ9bsJszIluKYpBIg
