Browzar

ive just downloaded this, 1st time, put ocuk forums in it, and it said welcome back bobbyboy uk ???? weird, something somewhere must have stored.
 
dammit, doesn't work if you don't have IE installed, was hoping this could replace my portable firefox on my super slim pc

Same with me, seems to have used IE cookies for some reason. Maybe it only erases the stuff it has created in that session when you close it? So if you have stuff cached with IE it'll be cache in Browzar as well.
 
Couldn't find anything in the terms on the site that said I wasn't allowed to edit it. So here's the hexed version to make it use Google search & google.com as home page :)

EDIT

Just tested, logged into OcUK using Browzar, closed Browzar, opened it back up and I was still logged into OcUK.

It seems like the cookies Browzar has created aren't being removed...

Nope, that was probably the problem as I just did the same test with TitanQuest.net and it worked perfectly :)

Cookie got removed and I got logged out (even though I ticked stay logged in) when I closed it ;) :)

Now all it needs is tabbed browsing. I keep pressing Ctrl+t trying to open a new tab :p
 
meh i can't be doing with cookies being cleared everytime i exit. i have autocomplete disabled in firefox and have it set to clear all other temp files/history/etc on exit. job done. :)

perhaps you could also try FirefoxPortable. Can be put onto a memory stick, and you can choose to save browsing history or nots

I think I'd actually prefer Firefox portable as it is not based on IE. The problem with browzar basing theirs on IE is that as it says on one of those news sites part of your history is stored in index.dat which is not wiped when you close Browzar. With Mozilla I guess the temp files and stuff are stored completley differently to IE.

EDIT

LOVING Mozilla portable. Keeps all your cache, cookies, settings in the folder you extract the program to. Doesn't need installing, can be run from anywhere (USB stick etc.). VERY nice :)

And it's exactly the same as Mozilla normal.
