Going here tomorrow. Ride magazine are doing a feature on the ZX9R and have asked owners of a forum I'm on to turn up to talk bikes, take photos and use the facilities. Looks quite good fun if the weather holds - 2 mile runway for some top speed tests plus the actual track. 4 hours of useage and its all free :)

Anyone been before? Apparently its where the Vulcan is being rebuilt too, so I might see if theres any sneak peaks to be had :)

Ride mag, eh? They after your opinion on panniers or something? ;)

Only been there once for a straightliners event but I was seriously ill and didn't see much.

I attended a photoshoot at Bruntingthorpe last year and it's a great venue...the track basically winds around a load of cool aircraft, then the straight runway branches off from it and goes down then through two ninety degrees and back up again.

I'd love to have attended something like this, especially getting to use the track for free!

Done a couple of trackdays there. Very wide, lots of run off, and if they include the 2 miles, some serious V-Max to be had :D

Tough on the tyres though...

What a great day. Big thanks to RiDE - really looking forward to seeing the article, which is Octobers edition but out in August.

My bike managed 165 with the RiDE tester but when it got back the back brake was smoking and the disc was glowing red due to slight binding thats not even noticeable at normal road speeds! Top bike managed 171.5 top speed, 0-60 in 3.6 seconds and 0-100 in 6.6 seconds - but I'm sure I'd have won if my brakes werent on d'oh! :o Still, Not bad for an 8 year old bike costing £2400

I could only manage 153 personally (GPS confirmed). I put the 12mph difference down to about 3st difference in rider weight and I was wearing textiles which just arent very aerodynamic. It shows how far speedos are out too - most bikes were showing between 180 and 190 according the Ben the tester.

The track was good too - managed to completely get rid of my chicken strips on these new tyres, and they let us have a go on their fleet Triumph 675 and Tiger 1050 - the 675 was amazing - felt as small as a 125 but handled and sounded awesome

All in all I did a total of 320 miles today, and most of it in sunshine for once!

How does this work???

Anyway, sounds like a great experience :)

Which bit? The day itself was for RiDE who are doing a feature on the ZX9. They came onto the ZX9 forum and invited users down for the day to use the facilities whilst they took pictures and did interviews with us etc. They also picked one especially mint bike for the cover, which they'd collected a few days earlier in a van

Or did you just mean the October edition out in august bit? If so its apparently because they used to do 13 editions a year, and then went back to 12 so got out of sync with the months or something :/
