Ok so I overclocked my 2500k back in oct running 4.5ghz with 1.35vcore anything lower it would BSOD after a couple of hours Prime. So its been running fine with a couple of hours gaming here and there. Recently I've been gaming a lot more and have a tendancy to leave the system paused while I go off for a few hours to do random things and im coming back to BSOD showing 124 code I have been playing a lot of BF3, Skyrim and fable 3 for long stints and had no problems bar these BSODs when I go off. I have been leaving my system on overnight to download steam games due to the sales but its been fine doing that.

I believe that 124 suggests vcore low or high but it seems strange when I leave a game running it should happen am I stressing the CPU voltage wise by pausing or leaving the game running (Fable 3 to earn more money ).

Thanks in advance for your responses and apologies I am still learning if this is something simple.

Sandybridge is weird for that. If you say anything lower than 1.35v caused BSODs then it was probably on the edge of stability anyhow, i've seen enough SB rigs to know that some chips degrade slightly and seem to settle at a particular vcore over time, it'll show up especially in a case like yours where any lower would cause errors. Up it one or two notches as long as your cooling is ok.

Well think I have sorted it when I checked the vcore it was set at 1.345 I must have lowered it a notch and forgot bumped it up to 1.35 now and all seems stable so far so fingers crossed. Cheers justintime
