Spec:
DFI rdx200 (latest bios)
Opteron 146
7600 gpu
jeantek 500w psu
seagate 80gb
Corsair 1gb kit 4400 c2.5

Get random bsod's trying to install windows. Changed board, cpu, gpu, psu and still get them. Ran a harddrive test and got smart failure so replaced that with the seagate. Full format and reinstall and still random bsod's. The weird thing is memtest can do 2000% error free at 290mhz and system can do orthos for 6hrs at 2.9ghz and yet still get random bsod's at stock speed. Have put it down to ram being incompatible. Running 1 stick doesnt help and have tried both yellow and orange slots (should be orange though as its tccd). Also dfi list these stsicks as compatible.

Just changed for some ocz 1gb kit and no trouble so far but no testing done yet - any suggestions?

How can memtest and orthos chuck up no errors at 2.9ghz and yet system unstable at stock?

Generally it said ntfs.sys but there were some other ones saying harware failure - didnt get anything from googling the code though

Does it give the fault 'ntfs.sys page fault in non-paged area' or something along them lines?

If so I would suggest its actually a ram problem rather than a HD fault. It would do no harm to run chkdsk I suppose to be sure. Memtest will not always pick up bad ram. Try and boot with a cheap stick of ram.
