been running my system stable for 5 months now with no problems and used orthos to confirm at 3.6 see sig! tried the game GRID and started freezing and the odd BSOD...stepped down to stock and no problems... what is the cause anybody? is grid cpu or gpu intensive.. temps are fine at load and i have good case cooling. does my cpu need more volts.

Maybe run prime for a few hours and see what happens?

Also you could run Memtest from as bootable CD-ROM to test for memory errors and run a few loops of 3DMark.

Which orthos test was that? Small-FFTs (CPU) or Large in-place FFTs?

Did you run a bootable memtest?

If the system is stable at stock and your sure it's stable at stock that kinda rules out a faulty hard disk. Could be a flakey PSU but it's s slim chance a PSU will run a system completely stable at stock but crash a system when overclocked due to the increase voltage requirements.

Trouble-shootings a pain sometimes but a bit or patience and a little know how are your best tools.

From what you have described, your system has been overclocked and rock solid for several months . . . then you start playing GRID and run into issues?

Could be GRID has a software issue of some sort but then again it could be a failing component or maybe one that is not as happy being overclocked just at the same time as you start playing your new game! :D

If you can chuck any more information our way it will make the trouble-shooting process tons easier! :)

[edit] when you say you had used orthos to confirm stability how past tense is that?

sorry for the delay!!! i have run small fft stressing cpu for an hour and temps are ok. blend for 8 hours cpu and ram.. i can run crysis and cod 4+5 without crashing hence i asked if GRID is cpu or gpu based.
