I've been running a 4.6 overclock on my 4790k for months without issue. The only thing I changed recently was RAM, but even then all seemed fine until last night.
I was running Batman AK and I noticed frame rate and GPU/CPU usage low and then... BSOD! Even after optimised defaults it was still crashing.
Long story short, it took the sfc /scannow route to get Windows sorted.
Now I'm just about to embark on fine tuning the overclock, I thought I'd ask what the chances are that it's fixed with no need to clean install Windows?
I've never had to fix a corrupted OS like this, and don't fancy wasting hours on testing if there's a better route I should be taking?
