Hello.
I 've been having trouble trying to figure out what is going on with my PC.What specific hardware is causing all of this , or if it is more than one even.I could really use the help as I even took it to a tech in town and payed for nothing as he didn't manage to fix it...

Problem: So I have been having BSOD,freezes with buzzing sound with no messages at all that need me to reboot, artifacts in and out of game and lastly...various errors in various different games that can range from crashes on mapload with no message at all to game file validation failures.Once I had the VGA "disconnect" for 5 seconds and windows "recovered it".BSOD can happen even while on desktop I think.

Clues: Truth is that I was having BSOD and freezes back in the past with my old GPU (which died on me) as well but I thought it was due to it overheating. Now after the upgrade I did to a new card, I have these issues again but also I have ARTIFACTS and general errors/crashes in most of my games. It seems that some of them might be HDD related.
One more clue is that my HDD also died on me...I thought that is why I was getting BSOD but it didn't stop even now that I am just running my single SSD.

Specs:
MOBO:Asus p6t SE
CPU:Intel corei7-920 2.66 GHZ LGA1366-box
RAM:corsair tr3x6g1600c8 xms3 DDR3 6GB (3x2GB) (1600MHZ) triple channel
GPU: r9 280 msi twinfrozr
PSU:AKASA AK-PSS075FGM-BKEU FREEDOM POWER 750W
SDD: some old 64gb corsair model, escapes me right now(cant get it if some1 wants)

Things I have tried: General benchmarking programs yield no artifacts for my gpu,yet I have them in game and even out of game.MEmtest 15 minute test, reinstalling VGA drivers, switching the button that alternate my GPU bios.
Temps seem to be fine everywhere as well.

Two GPUs being dead is a coincidence. Is there any way you can test the 280 on another PC?

1 gpu.
Thing is , I had bsod and freezes with the old GPU as well.So that makes me thing that the GPU is fine. But then again I have artifacts now....

So is it that both the GPU is wrong and something else?

Yes I will do that soon, I ll take it to another friend that also uses 280

When two items of the same type both appear to be faulty, it may be something connected to them in my experience. That is why it will be good to test the card in another PC.

I am unsure how reliable your PSU is, how old is the power supply?

PSU is 5 years old.How can I figure if it is bad?
I have some extra clues for you that might help...

I had BSOD and freezes with my old GPU as well but I thought it was overheating...Today I have the same thing plus artifacts.

On top of that , there are various errros EVERYWHERE.Errors that I never had in various games and of any nature.Plus even in chrome, it just breaks down at some points.

Errors that simply shut down the game on map loading and others that fail to validate certain .pak files form the game.THe last one is said to be HDD related.

Do you think this could be it?I am running a single SSD currently, how could I test it?

memtest?
run the heaven benchmark, you'll soon see any problems with your gpu

Did that 15 min memtest and it was all fine.Anything more I should do?
Heaven did not give me any artifacts or problems , it all happens randomly and mostly in game.

I'd be quite surprised if the cause isn't the 5 year old psu with questionable build quality.

Also: what is the max cpu and gpu temp at load? I'd use hwmonitor to reead the temps and use a stress test like Prime 95 to load the cpu. Unigene heaven on a loop to test GPU temps.

How do I test my PSU to see if it is rekt?
Can you give me instructions for what presets I should use and for much time I should stress them both?
Furmark took my GPU to 85c in barely 5 mins so I just closed it down.Unigine was raising the GPU very slowly but it just kept rising (15 mins later or sth).

I would look be looking closer at the PSU, have you tried the VGA card on another PCIe slot to rule that out?

No, is it possible that a PCIe slot is busted?I will check.
