Hi guys, I recently downloaded new drivers for my 6950 and started getting frequent BSOD's, probably around 20 this week. I'm pretty sure it's a graphics issue as it always happens during games or doing things like switching to a different display.

I have tried restoring to a previous point a few days before i updated the drivers, but i am still having the problem, i have also checked that everything is seated properly etc. Also, trying to roll-back drivers has caused a bsod as well.

Here is a screenie of Whocrahsed with the info, could someone please tell me my next step and best course of action?:)

Thank you in advance for your help:)

When i boot in to safe mode, when loading drivers it hangs for about 10 seconds on \windows\system32\drivers\ATIPCIE.sys, then it boots ok.
I have tried restoring to a point when all was fine, but i still get a bsod when playing games.

Sounds like a driver issue, did you remove the old drivers before installing the new ones? how? try driver cleaner and completely remove all trace of ATI and AMD drivers from the system (99% of them are included in the main driver pack anyway)

I'm afraid i didn't remove the old drivers:o(a mistake i will not make in futer, so lesson learnt;))

Yeah, i've been looking for a program to remove drivers, can you (or anyone) recommend one?

Thanks, i used driver cleaner in safe mode and i've played a few games with no problems, so hopefully it's ok now.
Haven't tried BC2 yet though, where most of my bsod's were.

IF there is a problem I would say its probably heat related as you have cleared out all the main culprits. :)
