I don't know WHY i do it to myself, why didn't i just find a laptop that avoided anything to do with NVIDIA. Do i not learn, did i give them too much benefit of the doubt? Who knows, but either way i'm stuck with a laptop that appears to be an insomniac. Upon sleeping it bluescreens, which is obviously frustrating. I think it's to do with the graphics drivers. But i can't be sure, the XPS 1340 appears to be fairly plagued with problems all ends!

Anyways i've got a LOT of minidumps (most recent is obviously most helpful) but i'm scared and don't know how to decipher them, tried this last time with my m1210 and failed, so was hoping someone could tell me what windows is pointing the finger at. I've tried updating everything as much as possible, and also rolling back old drivers (old SATA as used in other fixes for this chipset). As well as a host of different graphics drivers from dell and other sources.

The laptop did originally sleep! So it SHOULD in theory work with the correct combination of crap installed

Here are all my minidumps

Hoping someone can stop me going mental soon!
Cheers all

I don't own this laptop myself, but it may be work stress testing the GFX to see that you haven't got a dodgy GPU... Nvidia did manage to much up loads of Macbook Pro's so they may have managed it with Dell's too! :(

Not just macbooks and dells, there were loads and loads of laptops that suffered from the "nVidia defect". My mum's one has just died because of it, and I've found so many forum posts about it, even a whole forum dedicated to it. I won't be touching a laptop with an nVidia GPU in it for a very long time, and to think the way so many people go on about nVidia and say there's never any problems with nVidia..

This is how my mum's laptop started to go, and it eventually just stopped posting. She has an HP one.

Yep I have a dead laptop also, well all the graphics are garbled on the screen and it's unusable, with a lovely Nvidia badge on the front... It makes a nice doorstop now! :( It's either HP or Compaq, I also try and avoid Nvidia for laptop GPU's.

My 8800GT in my desktop is fine however, so it's not all bad...

Yeah i already have a dead m1210 to the same problem, i though the 9xxx series were unharmed by that problem though, although i guess nvidia have quite a few problems themselves... My 7400 died and the 8xxx mobile series were heavily ruined by shoddy PCB's. Maybe i'll just give dell a ring, i do have a 3 year warranty this time :p :D
