System Specs:

Gigabyte P-55 US3L
i5 2.66 Ghz
8GB ; 2 x (OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz)
XFX ATI Radeon HD 5850 "AVP Edition" 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express

All drivers and bios updated, fresh system install yesterday morning. Temps are running cool, using a third-party CPU cooler, runs stock around 30 degrees.

Wanted to squeeze more out of the CPU for Skyrim, upped the base-clock rating by 5 to 138MhZ - not a large jump by any means. However, it would seem that doing so gives me a BSOD and other assorted problems with loading - especially when alt & tab'ing. The subject title is the error that the BSoD throws up. I'll be running a MemTest later on tonight to make sure that it's not the memory.

Am I doing something incredibly wrong and stupid for such a small jump into overclocking?

I had similar issues but on a Gigabyte Z68 with a 2500k, it seemed very unhappy until I manually set the ram speed to xmp profile and timings, on auto it was almost unusable, no idea if that will help you but its worth a try if you have not done that already.

i was gettin the dreaded bsod and was down to memory setting, although i am using the asus sabertooth i enabled the xmp setting and working just fine now :) hope you get it sorted
