Hi guys,

I'm having a couple of problems with my setup. I'm running the following: -

Abit Ip35 pro
Q6600 @ 3.2 gig (1.3 volts)
4 gig Crucial ballistix tracers (2.2 volts)
Evga Geforce 8800 GTS 512meg (stock speeds atm)

Basically im getting BSOD when booting Vista. Now i had this problem occur about 2 weeks after getting the pc and running the current Overclock (Q6600 @3.2, Memory at 1068 mhz). So i upped the MCH voltage from stock 1.25 to 1.32 volts. The issue whnt away completley for two months.

Tonight it re-occurred cant boot into windows at all BSODS on any attempts.

So i upped the mch again to 1.37 and again it now seems stable.

Is this mch voltage ok? Temperature wise my case is running around 30C, cpu is about 35-40c and the Pwm is showing about 45c.

Is my memory dying or is this just an issue with needing that little bit extra out voltage on the northbridge?

Well i ran memtest initially and it cameback tellnig me there were errors.

So i started testing the sticks individiually and in pairs (maintained the overclock but dropped the mch voltage to 1.25). Each stick passed individually and in pairs. I put the 4 gig back in together (still at 1.25 volts ansd overclocked) and they also passed the tests.

I can currently boot into vista and run my overclock fine with the mch at only 1.25 volts.

I get the feeling that the memory may be over heating the 4 gig are very close to each other and there isn't really any real air flow over them (other than the cpu fan pulling air away o blow out the back).

I'm tryin to run the pc now with the case open to let more air in to see how that works. Anyone got any thoughts on what else i can try?

hmm interesting,

Well my rig is working fine atm (fingers crossed). I guess i'll just have to keep an eye on it; Dont realy want to rma all 4 gig as it may only be 1 stick causing issues but atm i cant identify which one it may be.

RMAing all 4 may be the only thing i can do though if i keep getting problems i guess.
